she's just a shitmachine

and she won't shit for nobody but me
she's such a shitmachine
a huggin' kissin' fiend
la, la la la la, la la la la, la la
doo doo doo (haha! doo doo)

seriously, how on earth can such a little person poop SO DAMN MUCH? geez. and such a cute little shit, too.

that's the saddest little face i've ever seen!

(and is that song stuck in your head now?)

so okay, the love affair with DD may have come to a grinding halt. i made dinner last night out of the book - chicken nuggets (which actually went over very well), ranch dressing (this stuff tasted like ASS), macaroni & cheese (almost as well, but the veggie puree in it did throw the taste off just a little), and blueberry cheesecake muffins.

dudes, the muffins were GREEN. they incorporated spinach puree, and there was no way to hide that shit from the kid, who knew they were supposed to be blueberry.

kid: "okay, mom, whoa. why is the batter that color?"
me: "ummmmm. uhhhhhh - there's [runs hand over mouth] spinach in it."
kid: "EWWWWWWWWW! i'm not eating that!"

i had a little chunk of the finished product and tasted nothing but blueberry, i swear. i told the kid as much, but she stood strong. damn.

the hub ate two. he said they were good. so there :P

but tonight, i'm going back to the myrecipes.com ideas i'd printed out on sunday. and if i can figure out a way to sneak some puree in it, so be it.

  1. I love spinach, and I think I'd be thrown off my green muffins also.

  6. Oh my gosh, that face! If the bean continues to hone her pouty face look, she will one day have so much power. How could anyone with a soul deny that face?

  7. Yeah, I'm guessing the muffins were kind of like when Heinz tried to introduce green ketchup...just too much dissonance between what you KNOW the product is supposed to look like and what is actually on your plate.

  8. I read another blog that sings praise for adding pureed veggies into food, and it was saying that if you don't have time to puree the food yourself, use baby food! I, for one, can't stand the smell of baby food but I imagine soon enough you'll have some around your house that could be used in an emergency. Supposedly one jar of baby food is equal to half a cup of the pureed goodness.
