meatapalooza

my vegetarian/vegan readers may want to stop reading now.

although i'm sure you guessed that from the title (which i kind of stole from my friend ThatGirl).

okay, is it safe? here goes.

as a direct contrast to dinners last week, i decided to try a recipe i've had bookmarked for a while: bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin.

dudes. meat wrapped in bacon? i'm in! look how pretty and pink the tenderloin cuts were:

they didn't stay pink for long, but they were still pretty.

going back to my bookmarked recipes, i decided to pair it with some creamy parmesan orzo.

the hub was mighty impressed as i rattled off what we were having for dinner, and even more so when he sat down to his plate.

i mentioned that i probably should have rounded out the meal with some kind of vegetable, but the hub shrugged it off: "nah, why ruin a good thing?" indeed.

the flavor was...bacontabulous. really - it was super tender and tasty and i'm almost sad to go out to lunch with MIL today, because i have leftovers to savor. tomorrow!

i also tried out a chocolate chip cookie recipe from my friend jessica, who swore it was excellent.

and she was totally right!

between this one and the last recipe i tried, the quest may be over, folks. are you sad?

  1. Your dinner looked amazing :) Have you actually counted how many chocolate chip cookies you've eaten? The bean is getting too big too fast, I completely agree!

  5. It looks like you have some parsley in your orzo. That's pretty much a salad in my book. A very balanced meal. Well done, Wan, well done!

  11. I tend to shy away from pork offerings, but I'd sure love some steak wrapped in bacon like that. And your rice looks delish too! I wish I could hire you to cook for me and my family. I'm really slacking in that department lately. :/
