the way to my heart: candy buffet

it's so hard to believe that the school year is almost over. right on the heels of wrapping up the teen's high school years is the completion of the bean's first year of real school. crazy, right?

because i've been lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom, it's been easy for me to offer my assistance at the bean's school throughout the year. i've enjoyed getting involved and meeting other parents and becoming friendly with the school staff. it's also been really fun to share room parent duties with one of the other moms in the bean's class.

and so one day last week, i found myself joining a group of other folks who've done some volunteering at school for a lovely thank-you breakfast.

there were lots of fresh bagels and flavored cream cheese spreads, plus granola and fruit and juice and coffee.

we were invited to pick up one of the reusable cups at each table and fill it with goodies from the candy buffet.

towards the end of breakfast, i met with a few moms to help organize the annual kindergarten rodeo. it was a fun way to wrap up the morning, and I can't wait to dig in next year and get even more involved.
