Take fat layer off of brisket (~2 lbs or so...make sure it's just regular brisket- NOT corned beef), then sear in a pan. Mix one chopped onion, one 15 oz can tomato sauce and one can whole-berry cranberry sauce. Simmer for a couple of hours, slice the beef and mix it back in the sauce. Serve w/mashed potatoes. I've had people lick their plates after eating it and many, many recipe requests. (And if you want an easy way to see if you like the sauce before Xmas, mix the sauce stuff with some frozen meatballs in the crockpot and test taste it as an easy dinner).
