yes, i am fully aware that we are now in september. i still want to try and recap all the stuff we’ve done this year though, so here goes.
this was the extent of our valentine’s day around here:
and we finally got a chance to try swedish candy. it’s so good - chewy, sour, sweet…yum.
believe it or not, we’ve reached this stage:
we went to our favorite sushi spot to celebrate.
for february break, the bean was invited to join a friend to visit their grandmother in NYC, and so while they were gone the hub and i decided to head up to santa barbara for a weekend away.
we did some eating, some shopping, and…some axe throwing. that was so much fun, although i was terrible at it.
back at home, i celebrated the old lady and the old man’s second wedding anniversary with a twist on the wan-niversary twirl. heh.
another quickie getaway for me and the hub took us out to vegas to have dinner with some friends at the four sixes ranch steakhouse at the wynn. it was fun, although we all agreed that it was a one-and-done kind of experience.
remember souplantation? well, a copycat spot opened up in rancho cucamonga a couple of years ago and is so popular that the wait to get in on weekends is up to an hour. dailygluttony, lilcee and i decided to head out to check it out, and while we were there we got the kids to recreate an old photo.
since the bean got their driver’s license and doesn’t need me for chauffeuring services anymore, i decided to try and fulfill an old dream and signed up with central casting in the hopes of being called up for background acting/extra work. at the same time, twitter pointed me in the direction of a photographer who does headshots for a lot of actors on my beloved “general hospital.” he was scheduling photo shoots for donations to benefit victims of the eaton fire, so i booked one. it basically confirmed for me that i’m not meant to do any sort of featured acting work - just so stiff and awkward. throw me in the background, though, and i’ll do just fine! anyway, here’s a few of the best shots from the shoot.
i capped off the month with a fun outing to yaamava casino with my cousins for a new edition concert. they’re regulars at the resort, so their casino host hooks them up with really good seats. we had a pre-show dinner in the steakhouse, and then had a blast dancing along with new edition and bell biv devoe.
and that was february!
