so i know i’ve been recapping months at a time, but this outing with the hub really deserves its own post. not only did we have a lovely overnight getaway together, but it was to our new favorite place:
yup, we were in pioneertown again. and this time, we had a room at the pioneertown motel! it was super cute in there, and we were excited for our stay.
and look, there’s a hammock right outside. i love a good hang in a hammock.
we grabbed drinks and dinner at the bar at pappy & harriet’s.
and then as we walked through town, we popped into the bowling alley since it was actually open. look at how cool this place is - super retro, and no electronic scoring systems or pin setters in sight. i love it.
but the real reason we were there was to attend a show at the red dog.
who was playing, you ask? well, it’s a band called Öof Tatatá…and their lead singer just so happens to be none other than jason momoa. yup, you read that right.
the bar was already pretty crowded by the time we got inside, but we managed to make our way through and snag a spot with a decent view.
and just a few minutes later, we spotted jason coming in and winding his way behind the bar to take the stage.
pretty soon, the hat and glasses came off.
and then…so did the tank top:
yeah, so this is as close as i got to him, but that’s okay because i already have the hunk i want.
a couple more sweaty shots, because why not?
at this point, i was literally sitting on the bar. like, my ass was literally perched on it in an effort to elevate my short ass for a better view. and so this was the moment when we sent a drink up to jason momoa and he pointed at me and said “i love you!” AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH
here we are after the show, in all our sweaty glory.
while the hub enjoyed a cigar, i got to take advantage of that hammock. it was a lovely evening, and i fully enjoyed my time in there.
the next morning, we bid farewell to pioneertown and headed out to joshua tree to find some breakfast.
if you’re ever in the area, hit up luna bakery for some delicious brunch and their fresh sourdough. i have no photos of the food because we devoured it before i even thought about taking any. the ladies in there were really nice and everything we ate was fantastic.
you’re welcome.
