just a slice o'boston

okay, well, since my life lacks excitement right now, city-by-city recaps it is.  heh.  although as i go through the zillion and two pictures i took, i find that between the road signs post, the food recap, and the iPhone dump, i've already covered quite a bit.  hopefully i won't repeat myself too much.

because our connecting flight from philly to boston ended up delayed by nearly an hour, it was well past midnight by the time we got to our hotel.  i actually think it was closer to 1:30 the next morning, and with the addition of the time difference, we all slept in rather late.  with only one day to explore the city, we decided to take one of those trolley tours that would show us all of the sights.  our hotel was right around the corner from one of the stops, conveniently located in front of the home of the recently-defeated celtics:

we all know how i feel about those guys.

we actually saw quite a bit on that tour, but my pictures are all from inside the trolley and kind of suck.  a lot.  oh, well.

our ticket included a harbor cruise, and it was nice to feel the breeze and be near the water.

it let us out here:

because i'm a nerd and love historical sightseeing, i would've liked the chance to walk more of this:

but the time had flown by, and it was time to head back to the hotel and freshen up a bit before meeting up with my friend trish.  it was a fun way to kick off our trip, and i was excited for what was to come next.

i'm sure you are, too.  whee!

  1. I love hearing about your road trip adventure! Rob's sister just accepted a fellowship at Harvard and leaves in September :) We plan to visit her in October when the leaves are all colorful, but you've inspired me to plan a road trip back east next spring!

  2. I love the Freedom Trail. I'm sad you didn't get to walk the whole thing. It's worth it!

  3. We never walked the entire Freedom Trail, but we did visit Newberry Street so I could drool over all of the luxury stores. Heh. ;)
