wan-na find something?

finally, the bean speaks. and sings.

at last, the bean is starting to find her voice. and use it. and as you'll see, she puts a whole lotta drama in her enunciation of the words she's learning. observe:

as soon as her daddy walks in the door after a long day at work, she perks right up and gives him a hearty "iiiiiiiiii!" no, no "h." she doesn't seem to like the letter h.

like, when she sees us holding a mug or walks by the oven, she points and says "ot."

when it's time to go, if she feels like it, she'll wave and tell you "byyyyyyyyye" and always ends it with a big smile as she says it.

and if she hears a horn, a siren, an alarm, or if the phone rings, it's "uh-oh."

when she finds her baby doll? "beebeeeeee."

at sea world, when we walked by the sesame street rides with the kidlets squealing and laughing, it was "wheeeeeee!" and "ooooohhhhh."

oh, and my favorite: when we take her to the changing table for a new diaper, she wrinkles her nose and says "eewwwwwwwww." that's my girl.

but the total, absolute best is when she sings the ABCs. and as luck would have it, she actually let me videotape it to share with the world. i got her to sign a release and everything. i hit "mute" on the tv to get the best sound quality. heh.

i love how she gets totally distracted 3/4 of the way through - something on the tv behind me caught her eye and she lost her concentration, but she never fails to clap and cheer for herself.

that's gotta wipe out any possible doubt that anyone might have had that this is most definitely my child. yes?

  1. Wan, she's so adorable. I love her singing!!

  2. boo! my school internets blocks it.

i love that the doll is beebee.

  3. I love that she is so proud of herself at the end!

  4. I love this video. I can't believe it's been such a long time since I last saw the bean! She's too adorable.

i heart comments. i wan-na hear what you have to say.
um, i think.

squeezing in all the sightseeing

this was our NYC home for a whole week: it was one of only a few hotels that i could find that offered two beds in a room rather than, say, ...
