drivin' by the seat of our pants

okay. it's almost road trip time! so i made a stop after work here:

picked up these:

oh, and these:

and then stopped at the mailbox to get this, delivered just in time:

um, that's kind of about it. we've got a hotel booked for the first night, and then one for the 4th of july, plus a one-way car rental. we have a general plan in our heads of where we'd like to stop along the way from boston to fort lauderdale, but other than that, we's wingin' it!

i'll have internet access thanks to my trusty iPhone (and the iPad, too), so i'm still taking any and all suggestions for stops for good grub, fun attractions, cool places to visit. i might still be able to post an update here and there, but my guess is that posts for the next couple of weeks won't have much in the way of visual aids.

that's gonna make for some fun posts when we get back, though, huh?

miss ya! mean it!

  1. The hubs and I went on a 4,000 mile road trip across the east coast. It was so much fun! We went to Niagara Falls first, then stopped in Boston, NYC, and D.C. I hope you guys have a great time, and I can't wait to see all the fun things you get to do!

  2. I HIGHLY suggest my neck of the woods, Northampton MA. It's about 1.5 hours from Boston and is an adorable town with independent shops and kick ass food!

  3. Have fun! Not sure where in CT you will decide to stop, but I highly recommend Mystic since there's a seaport and even an aquarium that the bean would love. There's also Mystic Pizza, where they filmed the movie.

Oh and I think you asked about where to stop in MD. I highly recommend the harbor area in Baltimore!

  5. Hiya. I'm EverAfter on The Nest and I check out your blog occasionally. If you happen to stop in Baltimore, Maryland, try to check out the Edgar Allan Poe house and Westminster Hall, where Poe is buried. It's a beautiful church w/ catacombs underneath right in the middle of the city. And get some awesome seafood (crabs, mussels, etc) in Fells Point. Bertha's Mussels!

  6. Hi, it's Mrs.Bones.
You're going to have a blast on the "right" coast! Enjoy DC, it's packed with stuff to do. If you happen to need a bacon fix, there is a restaurant in DC called Founding Farmers that has Bacon Lollipops as an appetizer. Just sayin'...
