duty calls

got placed on a jury.  of course.

never been before, so it's kind of interesting.

and really effing heartbreaking.

am likely the most emotional basketcase they've had as a juror in a long time.

miss working with cupcakes.

now completely in awe of all my lawyer friends.  especially the one who works for the d.a.'s office.  don't know how you do it.

give me the strength to get through the next week.

  1. H+P Wan! I would make the suckiest juror ever. I'd probably cry the entire time.

  2. Good luck, friend! Stay strong. You can eat 5 cupcakes on your first day back!

  3. I know the timing sucks, sucks, sucks, but I'll try to put my ever-optimistic spin on things and tell you that you're doing a great thing. Every criminal...I mean, innocent-until-proven-guilty person...should be so lucky to have you weighing in on their fate. Seriously!

  4. Just think of it as a cupcake diet! Not that you need it. Bitch.

  5. Hang in there. And know that what you're doing is so appreciated by all the parties! I know how hard it is for me to read certain files even after 8 years getting desensitized at work. I can only imagine what it's like for a juror to hear some of this stuff.

  6. I'm on call for jury duty this week. So far, no need to report. Yet. One more call to make tomorrow.

  7. I was placed in the jury box for all of 30 minutes and then I was quickly released. Heh. The defense really didn't like my answers to his questions. :P

i heart comments. i wan-na hear what you have to say.
um, i think.
