a little whine with my cheese

i'm just not feeling it today.

i really have a lot to blog about, with a great trip last week that included my first crack at fishing, but i'm not in the mood to do it.

don't get me wrong, i do love writing my posts and sharing silly pictures...but lately it feels like i'm just talking to myself.  i miss hearing back from you guys, and i don't know if it's because my posts have gotten boring or what.

but you know me.  i'll be back tomorrow.

oh!  how about we turn this into one of those fun "ask me anything" gigs?  if there's anything you want to know about me - within reason, of course, heh - post it in the comments!  maybe that'll be fun.  let's see.

  3. How do you get the Bean to agree to have her hair done every day? I have a 4 year-old bean of my own, and you all are putting our hair dos (which is just a headband) to shame.

  4. I read religiously but am horrible at leaving comments. I'll do better to comment if you continue to post. :)

  5. Can we have coffee next time you're in the SD area? (See what I did there?) ;)

  6. No comments doesn't mean people aren't reading... :-D

I just found your blog a few weeks back, and I'm still trying to get up to speed!

Looking forward to reading more about your runs & other adventures.

  8. I am always afraid of sounding like a stalker, but I read daily, its a must before the boss walks in!

I start a lot of my sentences with "i read on wan life to live..." like last weekend I ate from the lobsta truck at the racetrack and I said to my husband that you said it was worth the wait in the long long lines!

    I love your blog!

  9. Okay Wan, I'll delurk to let you know that, like Sarah and Ivy, I read your blog daily. I have been a lurker for years actually, which I guess makes me a stalker. I enjoy your blog and love reading about you, the family, your cooking and now you running! My work days usually start with you, so thank you! Please keep posting.

  10. Hi, I have been reading for a while and haven't gotten up the nerve to comment. I think we actually live close by, so that's fun! I have a 16 month old son. What were some good place/activities that you found for your daughter to do when she was that age?

  11. I read your blog a lot, but less lately, only because it focuses a lot on the Bean and kids just aren't my thing right now. I liked it a little better when there was more variety.

  12. I read you every day, but never comment! I truly look forward to your adventures and wish I lived closer so I could be a true stalker and walk in your footprints....😜.

  13. Hi Wan, I read your blog everyday! I am curious about your relationship with the teen's dad and stepmom. Do you get along and interact? I am going to be a stepmom to a little girl who is the bean's age. I would like to have a bean of my own someday, but things are pretty difficult with the bio mom right now. Any thoughts or advice you have would be great. Keep posting please :)

  15. As a mom of a teen as well as a mom of a preschooler... what's your best parenting advice? What do you wish you'd have done differently?

  17. I also read your blog every day. I used to work with Feminist Gold Digger, and she has a link to your blog. :)
I have a daughter the same age as the Bean. We moved to the Seattle area four years ago, so in addition to your posts being fun to read, it's nice to live in California vicariously through you - especially your Disneyland passes. Thanks for sharing!

  18. Checking in from Ottawa, Canada! I've been a stalker for quite some time, I guess it's time to come out of shadows. Love reading your blog, please keep up the great work. I have a question...what does your husband think about the blog? Is he just camera shy or does he miss out on all the cool adventures?

  19. Like lots of other people, I've never commented but I do read your blog faithfully! So your fans are out here, and we're WANting you to keep blogging! Love your sense of humor.

  20. I readl it almost every day too. I'm just lazy about posting. I think I've been reading since you started. I like hearing about your trips, cooking and all that other stuff. Just because we don't comment doesn't mean we don't read it. It would suck if you didn't write.

  21. Oh girl. I fell off the face but I'm back! And blogging! And reading. Love to you!

  22. Any guidance for someone looking to blog?

  23. If you're comfortable talking about it, I would love to hear about the custody arrangement you have for the teen with your ex-husband. My husband and I are splitting up (his choice, not mine), and we have a 14-month-old daughter. From little comments you've said here and there, it seems like the teen splits her time between you pretty equally. My soon-to-be-ex is convinced that it can't work like that. i would love to hear your perspective since you've actually been there. Thanks!!

As a sidenote, I e-mailed you once about doing invites for my friend's wedding, but you never e-mailed me back. Whomp, whomp... :(

    I still love you, though!
